Media Anthropology, a very unfamiliar name and first to be heard for me.
"Anthropology of media (also anthropology of mass media, media anthropology) is an area of study within social or cultural anthropology that emphasizes ethnographic studies as a means of understanding producers, audiences, and other cultural and social aspects of mass media."
This is what I got from Wikipedia. Well, to me, it is a very new subject as I know nothing about anthropology. But as far as what I have learn so far, from what I can deduce, Media Anthropology is a subject where students get to learn and study about the the culture background and mindset of a specific social groups, in other words, our target audience.
From previous exercises and group meetings, I often jumble up the thing between social groups and occupation. I'm not sure whether social groups can be classified by their occupations or not, since most of my friends do so.
Next week we are not having classes in our classroom, but instead, an outdoor class, more or less, a group meeting. Well, at least this is not like my other classes which we would often get stuck on 'indoor classes', this is more like an outdoor class. However, it's a bit different from what i though it would be, as the lecturers are not with us, so we have to discipline ourselves and not to go off course.
So far, it is a very interesting class and I'm looking forward in learning new things.
